OVERAL JOB PURPOSE

To transport workers in the morning and afternoon to various sites withing Castleton Farm. Carting fruit from the field to cold store (Packhouse). Be responsible for organizing gathering stations and fields in advance before people arrive at the workplace. Do some general farm work, when not busy driving. Required to work in all weather conditions.

**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Drive the van - a fruit van driver is responsible for loading the curtain side vans by hand and then delivering undamaged, fresh goods to a packhouse. The van driver should adhere to all safety standards relating to commercial van driving and the handling of fruits. - Drive a double decker bus - transport workers in the morning, through the day and after work to various sites withing Castleton Farm. On the weekly basis transport workers to a supermarket and return to farm. Follow all safety rules and procedures.
- Organise fields - communicate with harvest manager regarding the next field which must be ready for picking fruit. Make sure that there is plenty of empty trays, suitable punnets, and enough trolleys. Fruit gathering stations is ready for checking quality (table, pallets etc.). Lunch gazebo is ready to use (benches, tables, rubbish bags etc.). Ensure there are toilets available, loaded with toilet paper, soap, hand sanitizer and water. Mark smoking area with designated cigarette butt bin.
- General farm work - during the winter months (December - February) the work you will be doing may include tidying up all fields, tractor work, helping other managers on different departments, example tunnel team or irrigation.

SKILLS
- A clean driving licence with category D.
- Experience to drive a bus.
- Be ready for physical job and heavy lifting.
- Basic English
- The ability to organise your time and workload.
- The ability to work well with others.
- Pay attention to detail.
- The ability to work under pressure

**Salary**: From £10.42 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 60 per week
