**Salary: £31,098 - £34,968 per annum**

**Hours: 37 hours per week x 52 week per year**

The Sheffield College is a further and higher education institution dedicated to providing academic, vocational, and professional qualifications to approximately 13,000 young people and adults annually. **About the Role**

We are currently looking for a Progress Tutor to work within our SEND Academy at Peaks & Hillsborough Campus. You will work with a small cohort of young people who are all undertaking a Supported Internship Programme designed to support their transition into employment.

Supported Internships are a structured work-based study programme for young people aged 16 - 24 years old with an Education and Health Care Plan. The core element of a supported internship study programme is a substantial work placement, facilitated by the support of an expert Employability and Skills Coach

**Key Responsibilities**
- Based with the host business you will coordinate the delivery of the transition to work programme, ensuring each intern achieves a positive outcome.
- Delivering an employability curriculum that supports the work-related activity each intern is undertaking. You will use your knowledge and experience of working with young people with learning difficulties and disabilities to initially assess and from this develop and coordinate a personalised programme of study.
- A key aspect of the role is to maintain accurate records and to engage in regular meetings with the host business, the interns and parents/carers.
- You will work closely with the job coach and the host business to support the development of the interns and use your knowledge of job matching to seek our appropriate employment opportunities.

**Skills & Knowledge**
- You will have knowledge of the barriers to employment young people with SEND face and will have the passion and tenacity required to help break down these barriers and improve outcomes for our young people.
- A desire to build a quality internship programme is vital to the role and experience of achieving positive outcomes for young people.
