**Job Title**: Carpet Fitter

**Job Summary**:A carpet fitter is responsible for accurately measuring, cutting, and fitting carpets in various settings, including homes, offices, and commercial properties. They must possess strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality carpet installations.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Measurement and Planning**:Visit client sites to measure the area where the carpet will be installed.
Assess the condition of the subfloor and make necessary preparations, such as cleaning, leveling, or repairing it.
Calculate the amount of carpet material required for the project.

**Carpet Installation**:Cut and trim carpets to fit the dimensions of the room or space accurately.
Lay underlay and secure it to the subfloor.
Install carpets using appropriate tools, adhesives, or tacking strips, ensuring a smooth and wrinkle-free finish.
Seam and join carpet pieces as needed to cover larger areas.

**Quality Assurance**:Ensure the carpet is laid in alignment with patterns, if applicable.
Verify that the carpet is secure and properly stretched to prevent wrinkles or buckling.
Trim excess carpet and tuck edges neatly against walls or other flooring materials.

**Customer Interaction**:Communicate with customers to understand their preferences and address any concerns or questions they may have.
Provide advice on carpet selection, maintenance, and care.

**Safety and Regulations**:Adhere to health and safety guidelines while working on the job site.
Comply with industry standards and regulations related to carpet installation.

**Tools and Equipment**:Maintain and operate a variety of tools and equipment, including cutting tools, stretchers, and adhesive applicators.

**Clean-Up**:Clean up the job site, removing any waste materials and leaving the area in a clean and presentable condition.

**Salary**: £14.39-£30.77 per hour

Schedule:

- Flexitime
- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Ruislip: reliably commute or be willing to relocate with an employer-provided relocation package (required)
