This role is based in the Jeffrey Cheah Biomedical Centre located on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.
The post holder will be responsible for providing high-level technical support in studies that aims to understand the whipworm (Trichuris trichiura and T. muris) niche at the intestinal epithelia. This research uses both in vivo (mouse) and in vitro (human and mouse organoids) models of whipworm infection. Thus, this role will require a person with in-depth knowledge and experience on work with organoids and tissue culture, mouse models of infection, flow cytometry, molecular biology techniques and, ideally, bioinformatic analysis. This would have been gained through obtaining a degree in Biomedical Sciences and significant experience in those areas.
The project will be wholly undertaken in the laboratory of Dr Maria A. Duque-Correa at the Wellcome-MRC Cambridge Stem Cell Institute. We are looking for an independent and engaged individual with a track record of delivering complex scientific projects, who will work in range of projects by developing and optimising protocols, reviewing literature, designing experiments and analysing data.
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 42 months in the first instance.
