Summer Harvest Worker

A S Green is looking for a tractor driver/irrigation hand to join the farm team during our busy summer period.
We are a family owned farming business based in Herefordshire, highly regarded for growing and packing quality speciality vegetables. Supplying most of the United Kingdom’s supermarkets and a strong wholesale market too. We grow 1200 acres of Tenderstem broccoli as well as 100 acres of beans throughout Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Gloucestershire. The farm also comprises of cereals, sheep and cattle enterprises.
**Main duties will include**:
- Tractor operations using New Holland and John Deere tractors of varying Horsepower. Jobs can include but are not limited to, trailer driving, loader work, fertilising, planting, and some cultivation work.
- Assisting with the set-up of irrigation equipment, pulling out reels, running pumps and monitoring water usage.
The job is varied, and you will be expected to undertake a number of different tasks. There is also the potential to have an introduction into the growing and harvesting of Tenderstem Broccoli if interested.
Tractor driving experience is essential however training will be provided for other aspects of the job if required.
Due to the seasonal nature of the business, you should expect to work long hours and weekends, however we do aim to provide 6 days on one day off rota, accommodation on site can be provided. Pay will be based on experience.
**Person Specification**:
- Ability to follow and implement instructions provided by management.
- Hold a full driving license.
- Have experience driving tractors in field and on the road.
- Be able to work on own and as part of a team.
- Always maintaining a safe working environment.
Flexibility to work extended hours as required by the business.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent, Temporary contract
**Salary**: £22,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
