**Job Details**

We have six positions available to join our newly established peripatetic teams who would work alongside our Lead Officers and Childcare Managers to ensure that we can deliver our school aged childcare services in Fife.

This will involve working across all our services to provide effective staffing cover to ensure we can operate our services safely and to a high standard.

Team 1 - Kirkcaldy, Glenrothes, Levenmouth and North East Fife

Team 2 - Cowdenbeath, Dunfermline, South and West Fife

Our services provide childcare to school aged children before and after school, as well as during school holidays.

Childcare Practitioners:

- Plan and supervise activities with children and young people
- Organise play area, provide appropriate material and equipment
- Give children and young people the freedom to spend their leisure time in their own way
- Encourage independence, build self-esteem, and support children to try new skills and experiences
- Provide healthy and nutritious snacks taking account of dietary and nutritional needs
- Support children and young people on a one-to-one bases when required
- Deal with injuries and emergencies
- Liaise with parents, carers, and other professionals
- Support the Senior Childcare Practitioner with record keeping

**The Person**

We are looking for someone who:

- Has experience of working with children and young people within a play, care or learning setting
- Is willing to work towards the SVQ 3 Social Services (Children and Young People) or already holds a suitable qualification
- Is fun, engaging, adaptable, passionate about working with children and young people

**Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland.**

**You are required to register with Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 6 months of taking up employment in this role and to complete the required Post Registration Training and Learning (PRTL) over the first registration period.**
