Job Description - ROV Trainer

REPORTS TO

Global Technical Training Manager (Line Manager, for training related matters, such as course structure, content, material and scheduling)

Training Centre Manager (Functional Manager, for anything relevant to the Fugro Academy Training Centre in Plymouth, UK)

ROLE
- Design, development, documentation and delivery of ROV training courses and programmes as part of the Fugro Academy Technical Training team.
- Maintenance of ROV training courses and programmes as part of Fugro Academy course offerings.
- Collaboration and information sharing with other ROV and Technical Trainers as part of the Fugro Academy Technical Training team.
- This role may require occasional, global travel to various Fugro or client offices to deliver training, working from a Fugro office or working from home, or working non-standard office hours.
- Ensuring the welfare of all course attendees.

1.Primary

**Responsibilities**:

- Design of training course syllabi or modules in consultation with Global Technical Training Manager and others as required to satisfy the Service Line and/or Fugro entity and/or project specific and ROV Training Programme requirements.
- Development of training course content and material, exercises, and assessments to meet objectives and syllabus of approved training courses.
- Delivery of face-to-face training courses, in person or online training courses via virtual means.
- Design and development of e-learning/distance learning material with support and assistance from the E-learning Development team, for self-tuition by Fugro staff and others.
- Keeping up-to-date with changing and evolving ROV technologies, equipment and software within Fugro and externally and identifying new requirements, techniques or tools which can effectively support training initiatives.
- Assisting in the safe operation of the training facilities.
- Preparation and maintenance of the Subsea Training Area (including facilities, resources, ROV’s and other equipment and simulators).
- Implement and maintain IMCA and other accreditation requirements.
- Supporting other trainers in delivery of practical demonstrations and exercises.
- Supporting the development and welfare needs of course attendees.
- Undertaking own continuing professional development in discussion and agreement with the Global Technical Training Manager.
- Identifying personal training needs, bringing them to the attention of the Global Technical Training Manager and taking full advantage of the training opportunities provided.
- Ensuring that all activities are carried out with the highest regard to the health and safety of all involved and to the protection of the environment and prevention of pollution.
- Ensuring that all work is undertaken to the highest quality and professionalism in accordance with the company Integrated Management System and project specific documentation.
- Regularly reviewing work processes to ensure that best practice has been adopted, and assisting with development and updating of operational, QHSE and site documentation as required.
- Ensuring training materials data security and integrity before, during and after training processes, and ensuring appropriate archiving.
- Other tasks as assigned by the Global Technical Training Manager and/or Training Centre Manager.
