**Test Engineer**

Our client is recognised globally as a leading manufacturer of exterior lighting equipment, powered by people with a shared passion for light and committed to delivering outstanding service to its customers.They are currently looking for a likeminded,driven Test Engineer to join their team in Hoddesdon.

**Purpose of Job**:
The Test Engineer will be responsible for all aspects of product testing from R&D to production, providing technical support to various departments and problem solving of technical issues as they arise.

**Key responsibilities**:

- execute test plans as set out by the technical manager;
- develop test rigs and tools for various products during test stage;
- build prototypes to rapidly verify concepts and improve designs during the feasibility phase;
- ideate, design, and prototype new PCB design;
- identify and integrate different sensor technologies into the current product range;
- produce CAD drawings whenever required for test prototypes;
- assess products against various EN standards / clauses;
- maintain test equipment’s & resolve any technical issue;
- report and record all test results accordingly;
- support external & internal customer with technical queries;
- investigate failures and ascertain root cause of failures.

- have the ability to work with the engineering team to effectively transition technology from R&D to production;
**Experience and qualifications - you will**:

- have a minimum 5 years’ experience in testing electronic/ lighting systems.
- Have exposure in working in a laboratory environment.
- have a Masters or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications or lighting.
- have a sound knowledge of PCB design especially with LED boards.
- understand different concepts of power driver such as Constant voltage or constant current.
- have experience in working with different lighting protocols such as DALI & DMX.
- have experience of testing various products to EMC standards.

**Nice to have**:

- have experience working with cloud data management; Microsoft Azure IoT Hub and AWS
- have knowledge of both digital and analogue electronic circuit design, implementation, simulation, and verification.
- worked with MCUs such as ST & Microchip;
- have programming skills - principally OOP - Java & C;
- have experience in interfacing I/O peripherals to existing designs;
- be accustomed to standard EMC practice;
