**Red Snapper Managed Services require an Out of Court Disposal Case Worker in Bedfordshire.**

**What we require from you**:
**You must have a cleared NPPV level 2 vetting.**
A relevant professional qualification relevant to working with under supported and/or marginalised individuals e.g. Social Care, Substance Misuse, Advice and Guidance, Domestic Abuse, Coaching/Motivational Interviewing, or proven experience of delivering high standards of service to people (ideally young persons) with potentially complex needs. This could be gained in a drug and alcohol setting, police, probation, mental health or charity setting.
**The role**:
RSMS delivers an Out of Court Disposal service for Bedfordshire Police.
The role holder would deliver 1-2-1 sessions with an offender and provide rehabilitative opportunities for them to turn their life around at the earliest opportunity and before they find themselves in the Criminal Justice System and court process. This aspect of the role’s aims are to:
- Offer a timely end to an incident providing rehabilitation for offenders.
- Start the process of addressing complex issues, such as mental health issues, alcohol abuse problems and/or substance abuse problems.
- Provides access to the pathways out of offending providing professional support to the offender.
- Managing enquiries and referrals (call handling and in person).
- Conducting initial service user needs and risk assessments and delivering a range of interventions to service users to address their offending behaviour. This will include working with other partner agencies and charities to ensure appropriate support and management is made available to service users and their families.
- Building effective and credible partnerships with other agencies and services, such as Police, Probation, Housing, HM Prisons, partner agencies, local authorities, Youth Partnership Service, Bedford Youth Offending.
- Contributing to the process of multi-agency decision making by providing appropriate and sufficient information of the needs identified with due regard to confidentiality, data protection and existing information sharing agreements.
- Identifying and preventing potential harm to service users and others by continual risk assessments and where necessary following organisational safeguarding processes, including referral to, engagement and follow up/escalation with relevant safeguarding authorities.
- Facilitating service user (and family) awareness and access to resources which support rehabilitation, resettlement and/or diversionary opportunities (7 pathways)
- Keeping all case notes up to date and accurate on the case management systems in order to ensure effective case management and assist monitoring and evaluation of service delivery.
- Arranging and delivering ‘Drop-In’ sessions at places such as community groups, prisons and housing to meet service users face to face and responding appropriately to their needs.
- Acting as brand ambassador for RSMS, ensuring that all partners understand and are fully engaged with our operational concept.
- Researching and developing professional relationships with support agencies so that the broadest range of agencies is proactively engaged in our Referral service, Conditional Cautioning and Community Resolutions and the Home Office Safer Streets project to deliver interventions for Violence Against Women and Girls.
- Contributing to reporting to the customer e.g. creating case studies of SU journeys
- Contributing to the overall development and promotion of RSMS by attending meetings, working parties and forums and events. This may include some out of hours working.
- Identifying opportunities for development of services.
- Ensuring service users are asked to provide feedback on the service and generate case studies or be involved in co production work activities.
- Delivering services in line with equality, diversity and inclusion and anti-discriminatory laws and regulations.
- Undertake continuing professional development including participating in clinical supervision, performance reviews and attending training opportunities.
- Promoting and delivering services in line with our organisational values and behaviours.
**Skills, Knowledge and Experience**:
- Passion, commitment and resilience to support individuals experiencing multiple disadvantages and/or involved in crime or at risk of becoming involved in crime.
- An awareness of the challenges associated with individuals that have lived experience of ACE’s, trauma and the criminal justice system.
- Experience of effectively managing/prioritising caseloads and identifying, developing and delivering appropriate interventions and preventative initiatives, designed to prevent or reduce reoffending and anti-social behaviour.
