**The post holder will carry out care duties for patients, in support of a registered nurse, and will regularly work unsupervised.**:
**The post holder will carry out assigned duties to maintain hygiene, order and safety within the ward environment.**:
**The post is for six months to cover a maternity Leave.**:

**What we'll need you to bring****:
SVQ III in healthcare, or working towards, or equivalent experience working within a caring environment/role.

Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary/agency team.

Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to carry out assigned patient care tasks effectively within a busy environment.

Ability to work unsupervised.

To actively participate in the Personal Development Plan process to fulfil the requirements of continuing professional development.

Working knowledge of basic information technology

**It would be great if you also have****:
Cleanliness Champion

Previous experience working within a caring environment/role

Previous experience as a support worker in an acute environment

Basic understanding of infection control

Ability to prioritise own workload

Ability to escalate appropriately

Skilled in venepuncture, venesection

IT literate

Enthusiastic with ability to work on own initiative

**Contract type**:
Fixed Term or Secondment for six months

Full time

37.5 hours

**Location and Working Pattern**:
This role will be based in Medical Day Bed Unit within University Hospital Wishaw.

The working pattern for this role Mon/Wed 8-4; Tues/Thurs/Fri 830-430
