**Job Description** We are looking for either a university or college graduate who is keen to accept a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to start your career in accountancy and gaining valuable on-the-job experience.
You will gain experience working on all elements of accounting & learn about the preparation of financial accounts, interpretation of financial data and tax legislation.
You will learn how to work effectively in a team, how to build strong and lasting professional relationships and how to deliver exceptional client service.
**As an accounts assistant you will be responsible for**:
- Assisting in maintain service for a range of clients;
- Liaising directly with clients;
- Reporting directly to directors;
- Bank reconciliations for multiple accounts
- Processing of the monthly and weekly payroll
- Ad-hoc administrative duties as and when necessary
- Complete all aspects of the accounting of corporate entities and individuals including bookkeeping, interim and annual accounts preparation and ad hoc reporting and liaise with clients as necessary;
- Preparation of corporation tax returns and related computations;
- Preparation of self-assessment returns
- Preparation of VAT Returns;
- Communicating with clients and HM Revenue & Customs;
- Advising clients with regards to their statutory obligations;
- Monitoring your own work to ensure timely and efficient completion.
**The Successful Applicant**
To be successful for the Graduate Accountant role, you must:
- Recent university graduate with a strong academic background, or equivalent accountancy qualification.
- Have a basic working knowledge of excel
- Be able to work to demanding deadlines
- Able to work as part as a team and also be independently
- Working in a collaborative and challenging environment
- Confident working under pressure whilst working to deadlines
- Good communication, written and presentation skills
- An eye for detail, with strong organisational and communication skills, the ability to work to fixed deadlines and a good degree of initiative.
