Cheddar Gorge and Caves is seeking a meticulous Cleansing Team Member to join our team and help us continue our tradition of hiring engaged and productive employees.

Cheddar Gorge is a world-famous site in an area of outstanding natural beauty and is an international centre for caving and rock climbing. As one of the UK’s most spectacular natural locations, it has seven separate attractions where visitors can step 500-million years back in time - as well as deep underground.

Reporting to the Facilities Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the site remains at the highest standard of presentation and cleanliness for our guests. Working throughout the site, responsibilities include cleansing of the buildings and open spaces, including replenishing all consumables such as toilet paper and sanitisation of sinks, toilets, and floors.

**Key duties will include**:

- Performing general cleaning duties in offices, staff rooms and guest facing areas with a keen eye for detail and presentation.
- Empty litter bins and recycling and keeping both staff and public areas clean and tidy.
- Report to Supervisor any defects.
- Cleaning and maintaining toilet areas to a high standard.
- Work in an environmentally friendly manner and where practical dispose of rubbish in the relevant bins provided for recycling. Use equipment, cleaning materials and resources to minimize waste and in an energy efficient way.
- Ensure Facilities are adequately stocked and notify Supervisor when stock runs low.

**About you**
- To act as a brand ambassador for Cheddar Gorge and Caves ensuring that all work adheres to our brand guidelines/proposition and aligns with our vision of a Picture-Perfect site whilst performing the function required.
- To always provide a guest focused service ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards of the brand.
- Always represent the Company by being smart in appearance and presentable whilst behaving in an appropriate manner in line with our cultural values.
- Work in a responsible and safe manner at all times adhering to Health & Safety, safe working practices and Company Policies and Procedures.

**What will I need to be considered for this vacancy?**
- Educated to GSCE Level or equivalent.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work on your own initiative.

**Your contract**

You’ll be on a fixed term contract working a minimum of 15 hours per week until 3rd January 2024, working 3 days out of 7, including weekends, evenings and bank holidays as required. The earliest start time is 9am, and the latest finish time is 5pm, varying in accordance with opening times. Positions available for immediate start
