We have an exciting opportunity in Central Area CAMHS for a Practitioner working in Youth Justice Services. The Mental Health Practitioner for Youth Justice Services in Central CAMHS will have a solid understanding of the Mental Health Measure Wales 2010 and Social Care & Well-being Act 2014. You will have experience of managing a caseload of young people with complex mental health needs. In addition, you will have experience of being responsible for providing evidence based assessments and therapeutic treatment for these individuals.

The Practitioner is accountable for the provision of effective, efficient and appropriate high quality care for Children and young people with mental health difficulties displaying high risk behaviours to self and others and those involved with the criminal justice system.

Applicants should have a relevant professional and registered qualification relating to Health or Social Care e.g. in social work, Mental Health or Learning disability or Occupational Therapy and a high level of competence, knowledge and skills (underpinned by knowledge of effective risk assessment and relevant evidence-based practice) which is crucial to this role.

The successful applicant must be flexible, adaptable, and have a willingness to embrace change as and when required. The ability to use initiative when dealing with unexpected situations is also an advantage. Applicants should be able to demonstrate evidence of their clinical understanding and decision-making skills; be a committed team player with the ability to prioritise their own workload, and work well under pressure. Good IT skills are essential with confidence in outlook, word and excel.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
