**Support Worker Jobs with a difference**
Train to be a Specialist Support Worker today. On average our starting salary for a support worker is £22,500 per year (based on a 35-hour week and including one sleep in per week at £60 per night). Just working an additional 6 hours per week, i.e., 41 hours, will allow you to earn £26,224 per year. Indeed, our Support Workers can earn significantly higher salaries by picking up overtime, with many of our experienced workers earning more than £30,000 per year.

**For this role you need to hold a licence that allows you to drive manual vehicles in the UK.**
**Hours**:35.58
**Shift**:3 week rolling Rota including earlies, lates and long days.
EARLY SHIFT - 7am - 5pm = 10 hrs.
LATE SHIFT - 5pm 10.15pm = 5.25 hrs.
LONG DAY - 7am -10.15pm = 15.25 hrs.

**Meet the Team**:
Homersham is a Supported Living service, a short walk away from the vibrant hustle and bustle of Canterbury. It has 7 tenants, 6 men, and 1 lady aged between 21-28. There are 4 self-contained flats and 3 ensuite bedrooms with a shared communal area.
Our tenants participate in a wide range of activities in the community, such as bowling, trying new restaurants, staycations and even holidays abroad. When at the service our tenants enjoy movie and karaoke nights, celebrating special events from around the world. Anything from the festival of lights to pancake day, you name it, we celebrate it They also have a lovely outdoor space where they enjoy socialising and a good barbeque in the summer months.
The specialist staff team in situ are looking forward to welcoming a new colleague and has suggested we let you know they love to socialise and enjoy a good coffee. They are all friendly and eager to welcome you to the team

**Training Provided**:

**Tasks / Responsibilities of a Support Worker (may include but not limited to)**:
- Working with individuals who can display challenging behaviors hurting self or others, running away, throwing things, swearing, shouting and damaging property.
- Support individuals within the community in activities such as bike rides, long walks & shopping.
- Administering medication
- Assisting individuals with personal care and hygiene
- Be confident & experienced in lone working.
- Staff in CQC Registered and Supported Living services are required to undertake sleep-in shifts and receive an allowance, topped up to NLW
- Household management tasks including cooking, cleaning etc.
- Uphold their privacy, confidentially and dignity.
- Handle money to shop, going to the bank etc.
- Working with and supporting individuals with additional needs, such as epilepsy, pica, learning disabilities.
- To form good working relationships with other members of staff across different services.
- Ensuring written records are correctly maintained.
- Staff in CQC Registered and Supported Living services are required to undertake sleep-in shifts and receive an allowance, topped up to NLW where appropriate.
