Kent College Pembury is seeking to appoint Head of Careers. The role will be a non-teaching member of staff with responsibility for the implementation of Kent College’s guidance and procedures relating to university entry and long-term career goals. The Head of Careers is responsible to the Head via the Deputy Head (Academic) and Head of Sixth Form.

The role will be part time for 60% of the week term time plus four weeks during the school holidays. The Head of Careers must be available to work during the public exam results period.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Support the development of a forward thinking, creative, adventurous and high-profile university and career pathways provision at Kent College.
- Work closely with Head of Sixth Form, Pastoral Lead, and the Deputy Heads Pastoral and Academic in the development and delivery of a careers programme throughout the Senior School.
- Offer 1:1 guidance opportunities to Years 9, 11, Lower Sixth and Upper Sixth.
- Be a key point of contact for parents regarding their child’s future pathways, including attending key parents’ evenings for Years 9, 11, Lower Sixth and Upper Sixth.
- Organise and plan internal and external events to promote Careers at Kent College.
- Lead on implementation and delivery of GC Index across the school, including planning and delivery of the Young Person’s Index in the Sixth Form.
- in conjunction with the Head of Sixth Form, plan and deliver the weekly Futures Programme.
- In conjunction with the Head of Sixth Form assist in the delivery of the Ivy House programme.
- Have overall responsibility for UNIFROG liaison and implementation, ensuring that all students (Years 7 - U6) have access to high quality careers and university guidance as and when required.
- Update the Careers Education and Guidance Policy, taking into account government guidelines, inspection requirements and the needs of all students at Kent College.
- Develop the Careers Handbook, taking into account the Independent School Standards Regulations and Gatsby Benchmarks.
- Ensure continuing professional development for themselves and others involved in career pathways provision to secure high standards of teaching, learning and guidance.
- Evaluate major aspects of the provision (measuring success against the Gatsby Benchmarks) annually.
- Coordinate an effective Work Experience Programme for pupils in Years 10 -Upper Sixth and Work Shadowing for other year groups as appropriate.
