North Tees & Hartlepool Solutions LLP Division of Operations and Human Resources Job title: Mechanical Craftsman Plumber /on days / on call / shifts Accountable to: Hospital Engineer Location: Works Dept., North Tees and Hartlepool University Hospitals Grade: Grade E Job Summary Responsible for fault finding and calibration on a wide range of engineering plant and equipment (low pressure hot and cold water systems and associated equipment and natural gas systems and building management services). Performs work including activities, which are complex, and / or non-routine. Undertaking maintenance repairs, minor improvements and capital work across the trust as directed by management ensuring compliance with trust safety standards and procedures. Duties and Responsibilities Operational responsibilities To work in accordance with the requirements of decontamination CFPP01 (HTM 2010/2030), HTM04 Water Supplies and HTM03 Ventilation systems as appointed Competent Person for the Trust.

To be prepared to work in hazardous areas taking all safety measures to prevent danger, avoid injury and prevent damage to equipment. To actively participate in the operation and control of engineering planned maintenance schemes. Actively participate in the operation of the NHS labour control scheme (Planet) by working within the scheme including completion of all required documentation in paper and electronic PDA format Work overtime to carry out emergency repairs as required by management Undertake on-call / shift duties as part of the team to ensure that emergency repairs occurring out of normal hours are attended to. The most challenging part of the job.

Carry out maintenance tasks without causing risk or inconvenience to patients, staff and visitors. Provide a safe and secure and pleasing environment for patients, staff and visitors in a busy acute hospital. Completing all tasks to an accepted high standard within budgetary and time constraints.
