Business Support Services - Children’s Advisor

Business Support Services within Bradford Children and Families Trust work closely to support and enable our Executive and Senior leaders, Early Help, Social Work, Perform ance, Partners, Finance and Corporate Services teams to provide essential support in the effective day to day running of Children’s services.

We are keen to further invest in our workforce and are now recruiting Children’s Advisors on both a full time and/or part time basis to enable a strong, flexible, proficient and confidential minute taking and administrative service within Children’s Social Care.

About You.

You will be a ‘can-do' person, who is able to assist in the provision of flexible, proficient administrative service to the Children’s Services dealing with extremely sensitive and highly confidential information, within established policies and procedures and to strict deadlines

Key skills we will be looking for include:

- To work as part of a multi skilled team completing various tasks, including first contact with members of the public, new paper referrals, creations of new families, closure of contacts and progression of referrals.
- To provide information to support social workers in analysing the informationobtained and determine, following established procedures, whether the contact is either a Child in Need or Child Protection, and level of urgency required.
- The ability undertake file reviews, as directed, on previously known cases and complete accurate written chronologies of previous referrals, interventions, involvements and outcomes, to aid decision making by qualified staff and to provide information to other agencies where requested and appropriate.
- Ability to work flexibly as part of a diverse team environment, providing cover when needed to ensure continuity of service provision

Required skills and qualifications:

- Minimum of 3 years’ administrative experience
- 5 GCSE's / O Levels or equivalent at grades A - C including Mathematics and English
- Excellent IT skills in the use of a variety of software for data handling and transmission
- Excellent communication and customer service skills at all levels
- Excellent attention to detail
- Knowledge of case and information management systems is desirable
