**Location**: Totton, SO40 3SA
**Working Hours**: 35 hrs per week, 7am-3pm & 8am-4pm Mon-Fri
**Salary**: £11.44 per hour
**Contract type**: Fixed term contract - 12 months (potential to become perm after this)
**About the client**:
Our client is the UK’s national network of charitable food redistributors, made up of 18 independent organisations. Together, the company take good quality surplus food from right across the food industry and get it to nearly 9,500 frontline charities and community groups.
The food redistributed is nutritious and good to eat. It reaches charities across the UK, including school breakfast clubs, older people’s lunch clubs, homeless shelters, and community cafes. Every week they provide enough food to create almost a million meals for vulnerable people.
**About the role**:
Join our team and play a vital role in ensuring that quality surplus food reaches those in need. As a Warehouse Coordinator, you’ll oversee a team of volunteers, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to safety standards. Your responsibilities include:
- **Team Engagement**: Get to know your team, answer questions about our mission, food partners, and daily activities.
- **Collaboration**: Work closely with the Warehouse Manager, colleagues, and volunteers to plan and supervise shifts effectively.
- **Health & Safety**: Prioritize the well-being of staff, volunteers, and visitors by delivering health & safety briefings.
- **Risk Management**: Conduct and update risk assessments as needed.
- **Compliance**: Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and industry standards.
- **Office Support**: Assist the Warehouse Manager with administrative tasks.
- **Food Distribution**: Help organize food distribution using our management systems.
**Skills/Experience needed**:
- Experience in a warehouse of food distribution environment
- Experience of working in a team with evidence of demonstrating a flexible approach to team working
- Experience of working on own initiative, able to manage own workload and prioritise tasks to meet objectives
- Computer literate with experience of working with MS Office and other bespoke software packages
- IT literate - able to use in house systems
- Admin experience
- A full UK Driving licence is required for the role
**Salary**: £11.44 per hour
Expected hours: 35 per week
