**Overall purpose of role**:
Your main responsibility will be to deal with day-to-day assembly on the factory floor. You will be involved mainly with various fitting and assembly type tasks. On occasion you will be asked to perform tasks other than those directly related to assembly and a guideline list of these tasks is detailed below.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Assembly and fitting of the whole range of products given the relevant specifications and Bill of Materials.
- In process testing of sub-assemblies.
- Compilation of assembly records (“As Built” drawing and other recommended changes to design for easier assembly or enhancement of the product)
- Assist in solutions to overcome problems found on assembly
- Packing and cleaning of equipment prior to shipping
- Loading and unloading of equipment as required
- Assist in testing set-ups
- Any factory maintenance required, including the maintenance of a neat and professional work environment
- Occasionally work off-site at client’s premises or other areas designated as assembly points
- Assist in training of new colleagues
- Ensure proper handling and storage of assembly tools
- Ensure proper handling of equipment to minimise damage through assembly process
- Ensure traceability of equipment through the assembly process
- Work extra is necessary to ensure deadline and schedules are met
- Leave working areas in fit state to ensure no necessary health and safety risks prevail. Work in manner that ensure the safety of oneself and other colleagues
- Taking part in stock takes and assisting with test plant responsibilities
- Any other duties deemed appropriate by senior managers or factory manager or designate.

This list is not exhaustive and the job holder may be asked from time to time to undertake other duties so that the team or department can function efficiently. Such a request will be reasonable and will be within this role’s normal scope of authority.

**Skills & Abilities**:

- Demonstrable working experience in a current Assembly or Manufacturing role
- Ability to work within tight deadlines
- At least basic knowledge of MS Office, Word, Excel & Outlook
- Good problem-solving skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Fork Truck licence
- Full driving licence (Not essential but preferrable)

**Knowledge & Qualifications**:

- Relevant qualifications ideal but not essential
- Experience and understanding of assembly fitting and engineering processes

**Training**:

- Training and guidance will be given as appropriate

**Location and any travel requirements**:
Matcon Head Office, Evesham, Worcestershire, UK. Occasional travel to customer sites may be required, approximately twice per year.
