**Job Title: Bid Writer**

**Location: Liverpool/Manchester**

**Business Area: Regional Buildings North and Scotland**

Kier Construction is looking to recruit a **Bid Writer** who will report to the Bid Manager. The successful post-holder will contribute to the planned and sustained business growth through the production of professionally written proposal content that clearly articulates Kier’s value proposition to clients looking to deliver high value, technically advanced new construction build projects.

Kier pride ourselves on adhering to the highest standards throughout full project lifecycle, the technical bid writer will be responsible for ensuring that these high standards are reflected in everything that is produced for clients by having a deep understanding of their needs, the MMC environment and our capabilities to offer solutions to the most complex of projects.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Lead on and co-ordinate input and responses for pre-qualification questionnaires
- Lead storyboard sessions with wider bid team members to develop coherent and tailored responses
- Identify and re-work existing pre-written content in line with specific questions and bespoke to individual client requirements
- Re-write / edit proposal responses from a variety of stakeholders, typically involving contributions from sales, operations, commercial, legal, customer, HR and finance
- Deliver completed written proposal responses to the Bid Manager against agreed deadlines
- Provide advice and guidance to colleagues on site visits from and interviews with potential clients
- Develop innovative ways of sharing and presenting information and involve the team in the change process

**Qualifications**

**Key Skills and Qualifications**:

- Educated to a Degree Level or have a professional writing background or Technical Construction background
- Writing / bid management experience within the technical / construction / engineering management.
- Understanding of modern methods of construction (Passivhaus, DFMA, BIM etc)
- Strong written English language skills, ability to convey technically complex information in an engaging way.
- Possess advanced MS Word skills and be proficient MS Office and ideally hold an APMP Foundation accreditation
- Have the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines and communicate and influence at senior levels
- Ability to work on an individual basis as well as part of a team
