Workshop Controller

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Workshop Controller to join our team at Mercedes-Benz of Colindale.

The Workshop Controller role consists of assigning work to Vehicle Technicians to ensure the smooth running of the workshop and is responsible for ensuring service and repairs are carried out effectively and accurately to achieve the highest possible standards for technical quality.

The Workshop Controller is also responsible for ensuring maximum productivity in the workshop. They liaise between Service Consultants and the Technicians to ensure that all required work is actioned effectively and efficiently. The ability to keep to deadlines and react quickly to technical challenges is important, and you should enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.

You will be expected to provide excellent customer service, get it right first time and making each and every interaction special. The safety of our colleagues and customers must be a priority.

Driven by exceeding targets and motivating the team to succeed would be a natural skill that our Workshop Controller possesses.

**About The Role**

Customer Satisfaction:

- To ensure a customer-satisfying level of service and repair quality. Monitor Progress of repairs and service and communicate to service advisor of any delays.
- Ensure that quality checks are carried out
- To ensure vehicle cleanliness is maintained during service and repair.

Improve Profitability
- Managing and coaching a team of vehicle technicians and apprentices, making sure targets and business objectives are met.
- To ensure minimum wastage of consumable materials.
- To ensure all chargeable materials are recorded on job cards for invoicing purposes.
- Check capacity in the workshop based on any additional work requirements

Team
- To ensure jobs are fairly and correctly allocated to technicians and mechanics.
- To ensure staff are trained to enable high levels of quality and efficiency.
- Monitor and give feedback on Technicians quality and efficiency
- To supervise MOT tests and ensure correct use of equipment and document security.
- To ensure all job sheets are correctly written up and forwarded for pricing.

Administration
- To ensure efficient progress of jobs through the workshop.
- To authorise consumable and internal parts requisitions.
- To authorise any non-productive time spent on vehicles or in the workshop.
- To ensure health and safety procedures are observed and maintained at all times.
- To circulate new and up-to-date manuals and literature for new vehicles and techniques

Housekeeping
- Ensure customer's property is secure.
- Ensure all materials and parts drawn from the parts department are accounted for.
- Ensure all equipment and documentation is accounted for.
- To ensure all warranty work, documentation and returnable components are accounted for.
- Key holder responsibility
