Full time starting salary is normally in the range £20,405 (£10.90 per hour) with potential progression once in post to £21,416

Band: 200

Full Time - 36 hours per week - You will need to be flexible and able to work between the hours of 12:00 noon to 12:00 midnight - working any 5 days out of 7 per week

Part Time - 15 hours per week, working any 5 days out of 7 per week

Permanent

**Job Summary**

You will provide a high quality cleaning service in all areas of University buildings across campus, including offices, public and teaching areas and student accommodation. Clean, stock and supply designated areas to a required standard to maintain hygiene and replace stock items. Perform and document routine inspection and maintenance activities to keep buildings and facilities in an orderly condition. In order to flexibly use resource you may be given the opportunity to work in different areas of the department or wider University.

**Main Duties**
- Carry out cleaning and sanitizing of all areas of buildings, including sweeping, mopping, damp wiping, vacuuming, using cleaning agents and cleaning equipment.
- Empty bins and remove waste and recycling.
- Ensure that hygiene and required standards are kept to, ensuring a consistent and quality cleaning service.
- Replace stock items, for example, in sanitary areas.
- Perform and document routine inspection and maintenance activities.
- Report faults and maintenance defects, missing stock, emergencies (for example, floods, intruders, accidents) or building maintenance matters.
- Ensure all cleaning equipment is in good order and report any defects.
- Carry out the safe collection, use and return of keys, to ensure security of buildings and rooms.
- Cover for absent colleagues and transfer between working areas as required.
- Assist the Team Leaders and Assistant Managers with periodic stock takes.
- Assist with meeting University environmental targets. For example, turning off lights as required.
- Conform to all Health and Safety requirements, Control of Substances Hazardous to Health COSHH regulations, to ensure a safe, high quality service.
- Work co-operatively, helpfully, politely with customers, colleagues and visitors, including answering queries and dealing with all situations that arise, to deliver the highest level of customer service.
- Maintain personal hygiene standards, and wear the correct protective and required corporate clothing.
- Carry out additional tasks as required.
- You will be expected to treat everyone with dignity and respect, supporting equality and valuing diversity.
