Traffic Planner

Freight Movement are looking to employ an experienced Traffic Planner working **night shift **at our Newport, South Wales address.

The role will be either **Sunday to Thursday** or **Monday to Friday** - shift start at 10pm / shift finish 8.30am

You will be required to oversee vehicle movements for Freight Movement night transport operation,

Deal with night operation staff at various customer sites, deal with any issues that arise, offer continued monitoring of vehicles on route.

Main function of the role:
**Route** **Plan** next day deliveries for 3 Freight Movement pallet network sites at **Newport,** **Cheltenham & Avonmouth**:

- readying the depots for the next working day, this will involve the planning of deliveries in the **NP & CF** postcodes (Approx. 150 pallets per night), deliveries in the **GL** postcodes (Approx. 100 pallets per night) and deliveries in the **BS** postcodes (Approx. 150 pallets per night).

You must work within set parameters for timed deliveries, select the correct type of vehicle(s) for delivery addresses, identify and manage access issues or other problems that may arise, finalise deliveries for all vehicles available, maintaining full delivery coverage in a cost effective and achievable plan, implement a comprehensive and in-depth handover process for day staff to action on start of their shift.

This is a **role for a person** who likes to achieve and who has an eye for detail, you will have to be familiar with route planning in a similar role, know how HGV vehicles operate, have good geographical knowledge of **BS,** **GL, NP & CF postcodes** and have worked on route planning programmes previously.
