**The Company**

My client delivers large value turnkey engineering projects across the beverage, pharmaceutical and food markets. The company have a trading history that dates back over 200 years and are widely recognised as the leading company in their field.

The business employs over 300 staff and deliver projects that can range from £5 million to £50 million and value taking responsibility for the design design, procurement and complete delivery of turnkey projects around the world.

The company have grown incredibly from £25 million turnover to £100 million in the past six years.

As the business delivers projects globally with a large amount of high value capital equipment involved the logistics involved can be incredibly complex with equipment moving by road, air and sea. As a result they are currently looking for a Logistics Specialist to help create strategy and strong best practices with the logistics suppliers they engage with.

**The Role**

The Logistics Specialist will be responsible for making sure the systems, processes and best practices they have in place with their logistics suppliers is as good as possible to ensure smooth transition of logistics operations on projects. You will be also be responsible for the management of a Logistics Administrator who will support you with the administration on logistics projects. Key responsibilities will be involved:

- Mapping out the processes they have in place with logistics providers (road, sea, air).
- Directing and guiding the activities of the Logistics Support Coordinator.
- Creating standard operating procedures for logistics processes of suppliers to ensure they are following best practice.
- Developing future logistics suppliers based around project needs.
- KPI development with suppliers to help benchmark their performance.
- Daily supplier management and progress chasing.
- Tracking delivery progress of logistics operations on projects.
- Performance reviews with logistics providers.
- Ensuring suppliers understand standard operating procedures for producing packing lists.
- Experience in an export logistics related role would be ideal.
- To be confident liaising and communicating with customers.
- To be a strong organiser
