Due to recent team changes, an exciting opportunity has become available to join the Schools Financial Services Team.

The role will
- provide support to schools in respect of statutory services, which includes budget monitoring and closure of accounts.
- ensure that the Local Authority’s key financial controls are operating satisfactorily in schools
- be required to visit schools to ensure compliance with financial procedures and other areas considered to be of risk.
- Review documentation, discuss findings with Headteachers and finance staff. Produce reports, making recommendations where necessary and complete follow-up reports

Knowledge and experience of how schools operate would be beneficial.

Experience of working within a finance environment, good written and verbal communications skills, IT skills, analytical and interpretive skills with the ability to work as part of a team.

The ability to travel across a wide geographical area in a timely and flexible manner at various times of the day is essential.
