We are currently seeking an expert individual to join this team in the role of Head of Liquidity, NRFB.

In this role, you will:

- Lead the liquidity team for the non-ring fenced bank (“HBEU Solo”). This entity includes the non-ring fenced bank in the UK, together with branches in CIIoM (Channel Islands, Isle of Man), Switzerland, South Africa, and Israel. It is a large and complex balance sheet; movements in which have a material impact on the Group’s consolidated liquidity metrics. The role includes having responsibility for setting the strategy for liquidity management, ensuring the liquidity policy is effectively implemented, owning entity stress testing, and ultimately steering the entity’s liquidity to ensure safe, yet efficient, management of liquidity from a first line perspective;
- The main responsibilities include partnering with stakeholders across entities, functions, and businesses to manage the end-to-end processes involved in liquidity management. This will include engagement with regulators, driving local forecasting, planning and overall liquidity steering. You will need to work with those stakeholders to align existing practices, with a significant global book of work already underway;
- Critically the role will require a good understanding of the drivers of liquidity risk and how these elements relate to each other, constraining businesses in different ways, and in different circumstances. A solid understanding of the drivers of liquidity risk in the markets business is especially important for this role;
- You will oversee a team based predominately in London and will require strong communication skills to lead that team and ensure connectivity with regional and global colleagues. You will need to be able to interact and communicate confidently with senior stakeholders, including the entity CFO and members of the entity Asset & Liability Committee, Risk Committee and Board;
- By executing on the consolidation of optimisation activity, and by levering their understanding of the constraints, you will be ideally positioned to identify opportunities to take the best ideas in one part of the bank and expose them to other parts of the bank where those ideas can be of additional value.
Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

- Demonstrable Treasury & Liquidity experience (within an Investment Bank preferrable);
- Experience of writing board/senior committee papers;
- Regulatory engagement experience (i.e., PRA/Bank of England);
- Experience of leading, engaging, motivating and managing a team;
- Experience of building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders (at all levels of seniority).

The base location for this role is London and with a hybrid working pattern.
