Cherry Picker Operator

**Responsibilities**:
- Safely operate and control the cherry picker equipment to lift and lower personnel, materials, or equipment to specified heights.
- Inspect and maintain the cherry picker machinery to ensure proper functionality and report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while operating the cherry picker, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Load and unload materials or equipment from the cherry picker platform as required.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to coordinate and execute projects efficiently and effectively.
- Conduct pre-operation inspections of the cherry picker, including checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and controls.
- Follow project instructions, work orders, and blueprints to ensure accurate completion of tasks.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the proper storage of tools and equipment.
- Report any accidents, incidents, or near misses to supervisors promptly.
**Requirements**:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid cherry picker operator certification or license.
- Previous experience operating cherry pickers or aerial work platforms.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures and regulations related to cherry picker operations.
- Ability to effectively communicate with team members and follow instructions.
- Physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions and at elevated heights.
- Attention to detail and the ability to maintain focus while operating machinery.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues.
- Willingness to undergo periodic drug testing and background checks as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in construction, maintenance, warehousing, or a related field.
- Additional certifications in related areas such as forklift operation or rigging.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 6 weeks
**Salary**: £18.00-£20.00 per hour
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Harwell, Oxfordshire: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
**Experience**:
- Warehouse experience: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Driving Licence (preferred)
