This is a hands-on role, in which you will provide vital support to the business, working closely with Production and the Transport Department to ensure we provide highly accurate, on-time deliveries to our customers.

**Shift pattern**: 5 days a week, Includes weekend work

**The main duties of the roles will be**:

- Print and prepare daily paperwork, packing instructions, clear the packing board and brief the loading team
- Ensure safe systems of working for all staff under your responsibility, including provision of all PPE, manual handling and other training activities
- Ensure cages are safe to use, loaded correctly and not overweight
- Complete the daily checklist paperwork and sign off to evidence completion
- To ensure the avoidance of unnecessary shorting of products by having the foresight to recognise this potential in advance and liaise with Shift Managers to alert them with sufficient time to process them
- Maintain the packing position to ensure that the following shift inherits the correct position of packed, stored and loaded work.
- Conduct quality compliance checks on the loading team and report findings
- With the assistance of Senior Management, to take responsibility for the day-to-day organisation of the Loading Department in the absence of the Loading Manager;
- With the assistance of Senior Management, be responsible for managing all loaders in the absence of the Loading Manager;
- To monitor individual staff performance, give encouragement and feedback to Loaders to help them attain targets
- To liaise with the office and answer/address questions or concerns in a timely and professional manner
- To report all issues to your line manager to avoid impact on customers
- To provide support, monitoring and training of the employees under your responsibility;
- To pack linen to the correct quality standard and performance
- Added special care for customers labelled ‘supervisor packed’ to be packed only by a supervisor with a perfect quality standard
- To unload/ load lorries in the correct sequence and to ensure the loads are secured safely/correctly
- To help attain loading department PPOH performance targets
- To demonstrate initiative in avoiding routes from blowing and helping find solutions to ensure all customers deliveries are loaded
- Ensure cage cleaning and disinfection is taking place and give assistance to endure supply of empties, if required
- Adhere to strictest confidentiality standards with regards to all Company financial and salary matters
- Report and complete near miss observations regularly to help improve health and safety
- To undergo Banksman Training and help with vehicle maneuvering in yard
- To undergo Shunter training for HGV’s, pending suitable valid driving license
