Glasgow, United Kingdom NHS Scotland Full time

**POST: CONSULTANT RADIOLOGIST WITH AN INTEREST IN MSK IMAGING**

**Base: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with Sessional Commitment at the New Victoria ACH or Gartnavel General**

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is the largest National Health Service provider in Scotland with an annual operating budget of just under £2 billion. In recent years, NHSGGC has invested £15 million in new facilities and equipment, specifically in the areas of CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Digital Mammography, PET CT/SPECT, Angiography and General Digital Imaging.

They will be proficient in all forms of general diagnostic imaging with a sub-speciality interest in MSK imaging.

This attractive post involves working closely with a team of 5 MSK consultants within the sector who provide a wide variety of MSK expertise to the clinical teams. The post requires sub-specialist skills in MSK imaging and intervention, ideally with a spinal interest. Spinal skills would ideally include CT myelograms, thoraco-lumbar biopsies and lumbar punctures.

Involvement in the Regional Spinal MDT will be a requirement - this involves close working relationships with both orthopaedic/neurosurgical teams and allied health care professionals. There are large orthopaedic and rheumatology departments allowing further opportunities to work closely with clinical colleagues, develop services and meetings and undertake research in order to further improve patient care. There is ample scope for involvement in medical student and specialty trainee teaching locally as well as audit, while there are established links with the local Research & Innovation department with the option to participate in the research projects and trial reporting. Further aspects of the job are negotiable and, to some extent, will be tailored to the abilities and interests of the successful applicant including US intervention and arthrograms. However the duties will include the supervision and reporting of CT and MR examinations, ultrasound, plain film reporting and on-call duties.

Out of hours service is supported by GGC registrar Hub. Consultant duties include regular involvement in evening and weekend work in line with local agreement (time-in-lieu/ sessional compensation).

This is a general post with an interest in musculoskeletal imaging.

Applicants must have full registration with the General Medical Council, a license to practice and be eligible for inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register. Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher Specialist Training leading to a CCT or eligibility for specialist registration CESR (CP) or be within six months of confirmed entry from the date of interview. Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.
