**SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant - Bristol**

Shape A Life is looking for a Specialist Graduate Teaching Assistant to provide support for **Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH). **This role is ideal for a graduate considering a career in educational or clinical psychology.

The position is available at a **secondary academy in Bristol** that places high value on students. The academy aims to provide an inclusive and supportive learning environment and believes in a holistic approach to education.

The SEMH Teaching Assistant will work closely with the school's SENCo and will need to be energetic and creative in their approach to inspire students across Key Stages 3 & 4. The role's primary focus will be to support students' social, emotional and mental health needs so that they can access all areas of the curriculum.

**Starting ASAP **this will be a term-time-only position, and you will earn **£450 - £500/week.**

**Your Key Responsibilities**:

- Taking responsibility for learners both inside and outside of the classroom
- Assessing the needs of the students under your care and support the teacher with monitoring progress
- Support students educational progress and attainment
- Delivering 1:1 and small group interventions
- Promote positive values, attitudes, and good pupil behaviour.
- Actively encourage the inclusion of all students to participate in the life and activities of the school.
- Promote and reinforce the inclusion, acceptance and integration of all pupils.

**You will need**:

- Passion and enthusiasm to shape the next generation.
- An interest in SEMH, secondary school education or SEND.
- **2:2 or above degree - a degree in the social sciences would be advantageous**:

- To be a positive role model
- Be keen to develop as a professional
