An excellent opportunity has arisen at a specialist rehabilitation and recovery care provider based in London, for a Clinical Psychologist. They specialise in adult mental health and are committed to a positive philosophy of valuing people.
As the Clinical Psychologist you will work as a member of the Multi-Disciplinary Team in a 22-bed low secure hospital for males suffering with mental illness and a history of offending behaviour.The ethos of the service has always been to promote recoveryand provide the highest quality care.This position involves the delivery of psychological assessments and treatment to patients admitted to the hospital and to provide supervision and teaching opportunities within areas of competence and to undertake relevantclinical research.
-**Clinical Psychologist - Key Responsibilities**:
- To be responsible for the delivery of psychological assessment and treatment to
- patients admitted to the Hospital.
- To provide supervision and teaching opportunities within areas of competence and
to undertake relevant clinical research.
**Clinical Psychologist - Key Requirements**:
- You will need to be a qualified, HCPC registered, Clinical Psychologist.
- Ideally experience of working in a mental health and challenging behaviours
- Adaptable and creative to meet their needs and have the skills and ability to work with people that may be difficult to engage and with challenging behaviour patterns.
- contribute to the assessment of newly referred/admitted patients, theformulation of patient treatment needs and the provision of psychological treatment programmes.
- monitor and supervise the implementation of Behaviouralprogrammes within the service, ensuring that these are based on sound psychological principles and practice.
- To assist with the monitoring and reviews of behavioural programmes and to ensure that staff have adequate understanding of the Cognitive Behavioural principles.
- To provide timely reports for patient’s reviews and contribute to the development of in
- service and other training programmes.
- To undertake research relevant to the assessment of patients’ needs and the development and evaluation of interventions.
- To be compliant with the organisations policies and procedures and inform the Hospital Director if a complaint is made against them.
- Where delegated to efficiently manage day-to-day material resources ensuring adherence to financial limits and ensure adherence to all policies and procedures relating to financial control within the unit.
- To be competent in the performance of professional procedures and practices,
- bringing to the immediate attention of the Hospital Director any variations in these
practices.
- To ensure that clinical practice complies with codes of practice and guidelines
- endorsed by professional bodies such as the BPS Division of Clinical Psychology,
British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy and the Mental
Health Act Commission.
