Your new company
Hays accountancy and finance team has partnered exclusively with an established and growing manufacturing company to source an organised and methodical purchase ledger with excellent communication skills to join their friendly and supportive finance team.
Your new role
You will be responsible for ensuring that all supplier invoices are accurately loaded onto Business System. Ensuring supplier accounts are complete and accurate. Ensuring all invoices have the correct authorisation, matching POs and are received correctly.Other key responsibilities include:
- Ensure that all Supplier invoices are scanned prior loading to the system.
- Process invoices, reconciling delivery notes to invoices received and purchase orders.
- Process all employee expense forms onto the Accounts system.
- Check and maintain Supplier details on Business Central.
- Taking invoices off hold in preparation for payment run.
- Monthly reconciliation of Supplier Statements and ensure all discrepancies are dealt with including requesting copy invoices as necessary.
- Close liaison with suppliers and internal departments to ensure that queries are dealt with efficiently and in a timely fashion.
- Preparation of monthly supplier payment runs for approval by Financial Manager.
- Assistance for internal and annual external audit.
- Creating Purchase Orders for ad-hoc requests.
- Maintain monthly reconciliations for utilities, insurances, and leases.
- Any other Ad-hoc tasks as required
What you'll need to succeed
- High level of computer skills and willingness to learn new IT skills.
- Confident numeracy skills. Professional and friendly manner for answering the telephone.
- High Attention to detail.
- Purchase Ledger experience essential.
- Experience with accounting software desirable.
- Experience with Business Central desirable, but not essential.
- An understanding of the Companies legal obligations to retain paperwork for HMRC.
