Join an established British start-up working to help the world address global sustainability challenges through the use of high-resolution thermal imaging. Using infrared technology, the client are filling the void in high-resolution thermal data. Prior totheir exciting launch in Spring next year, this is a great time to join and support the UK’s transition to net-zero.
Working in the Earth Observation sector, you will be contributing your efforts to emerging new technologies prior to the product launch next year. Working to assess the commercial structure of carbon footprints, the client bridges the gap between sustainabilityand space. **What you’ll be doing**:
Joining the existing science team, you will also be collaborating with the Engineering and Product Development teams to develop solutions and producing quality deliverables for clients.
You will be:

- Proposing, researching, and developing proof-of-concept scientific products using thermal satellite data.
- Advancing satellite and airborne data calibration and land surface temperature product creation.
- Collaborating with a variety of external organisations, including like-minded companies, universities, and the European Space Agency (ESA).
- Contributing to the development of new methods, working to implement processing pipeline infrastructure into operations.
- Researching the wider market to scope, plan and identify new avenues for research and business development, keeping an eye on changes within the sector.
- Writing value-added reports, data, and code; all of which will be well-presented and submitted on time.
- Communicating scientific and technical findings and concepts to the tech team to ensure that everyone is on the same page with emerging developments.

**What experience you’ll need to apply**:
This role will be perfect for you if you have:

- A PhD or Master’s degree in remote sensing, earth science, earth observation, or similar.
- Demonstratable experience in the satellite remote sensing sector, preferably with some experience in industry/commercial settings.
- A track record of algorithm development, large-volume data handling and statistical analysis using Python.
- Experience in identifying opportunities for research and collaboration.
- The ability to bring new ideas to the table for both technical and commercial development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
