IT Technician (User Support and Cyber Security)

£22,000 to £25,000 DOE + Holidays + Pension (5% Company Contribution) + Life Assurance + Bonus Scheme

Monday to Thursday 08:30-17:00, Friday 08:30-13.30

Fixed-Term Contract, 18 months

The role would suit an IT Technician with experience in providing IT support encompassing end-users, hardware, network, software, cyber security and supporting IT initiative projects. Applicants will have a minimum of HND or degree level in IT/ ComputerScience.

Working with the IT Manager, you will have primary responsibility for providing first line support to 70 members of staff on any IT related queries/ issues. You will work collaboratively with teams and 3rd party suppliers, requiring effective time managementand control of multiple tasks. Your duties will include maintaining the internal helpdesk with threads and solutions, report weekly helpdesk KPIs and perform weekly IT maintenance and audits on PC and software licenses, user access and cyber security and DRaudits.

The role:

- Provide IT support to 70 members of staff
- Liaise with 3rd party support companies to assist in solutions when required
- Maintain the internal helpdesk with meaningful threads and solutions
- Report weekly Helpdesk KPIs to enable informed decision making
- Carry out monthly IT maintenance and audits including on cyber security and disaster recovery
- Monitor and maintain patch management
- Monitor and maintain anti-virus standards
- Assist in obtaining and maintaining cyber security certifications

The person:

- Competent user of Microsoft 365
- IT Helpdesk experience
- Basic understanding of firewalls, networks, switches and patch-panels
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential to engage with internal and external contacts
- A minimum of HND or degree level in IT/ Computer Science is essential
