**The Team**:
The role is to work within our Economic Indices team who are primarily responsible for the production of the widely used Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) surveys. The team also produces a range of special consultancy reports for clients.

Our team is made up of over a dozen economists, part of a wider department of approximately 35 staff members. We take great pride in our products, working closely together and supporting each other in maintaining a high degree of product quality and ensuring client expectations are constantly exceeded.

**Responsibilities**:
At the heart of the economist role is to work on the closely watched and renowned PMI surveys. You will oversee the production of a portfolio of PMI reports covering a wide range of countries, sectors, and indicators. As part of the role, team members are expected to handle enquiries from the media, subscribers, and financial market analysts. In addition, there will be the opportunity to undertake a range of product development initiatives and work on separate projects to help drive the creation of new economic indices.

**Core responsibilities include**:
Work on a portfolio of PMI reports on a monthly basis
Develop expertise on the economies you cover
Produce economic research commentary to enhance survey findings
Contribute to the development of new datasets and products
Work on consultancy projects
Answer questions on the data and its relevance to a country’s economic performance from media and clients

**What We’re Looking For**:
Bachelor’s Degree in economics, or a degree involving economics as its highest weighted component
Excellent writing skills in English
Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
Competence with Microsoft Office suite of products

**It’s a bonus if you also have**:
Familiarity with desktop publishing
Work experience
