**JOB DESCRIPTION**
**JOB TITLE**: Supply Chain Manager
**RESPONSIBLE TO**: Operations Director
**PURPOSE OF JOB**: Oversee and Manage Supply Chain Operations for The Bond Group
**Key Tasks**
Based in Sheerness Kent, the role requires an organised, efficient, and competent person to manage The Group supply chain and supporting operations. These operations range from Purchasing, Production Stock Control, Group Stock Management, and MRP (automated and manual).
**Company Purchasing**
Oversee Purchasing function. This will include scheduling of tender at regular intervals for high value and large area spends. Negotiating stock retention at Supplier in readiness for Bond requirement (at their cost). Understanding the need for maximising payment terms and discussing potential retrospective discount where appropriate.
Maximise spend efficiencies, common components are to be consolidated in supplier or brand (with Technical Department) on a regular basis.
**Company Stock Management**
Responsible for overseeing Warehouse Stock Management (storage & retrieval) with Production Managers. Understanding demand for manufacturing, will require a level of skill, expertise, and experience to ensure that all End User demands are met, on time and in full.
Consideration must be given to the effects of stocking too high (space & cash) or too low (non-availability). This will require a ‘hands on’ approach to internal processes, by co-ordinating and managing a Supply Chain team of administrators.
There must be a constant drive to reduce overall Stock Holding (Quantity and Value) with all key
stakeholders. These will consist of Account Directors, Production Managers, Design Team &
Suppliers, with the Supply Chain Manager leading discussions from an expert viewpoint.
**Production Stock Control**
Responsible for Stock Levels and introducing best practice on day-to-day Production Stock Control. Being experienced in the usage and distribution of parts for production (purchased and in house manufactured), you will offer expert management, control, and delivery of parts, on a ‘just in time’ basis to continually strive to reduce operational costs. There will be an expectation to deliver this, by strong management of a dedicated Supply Chain team.
**Production Processing**
Have a firm understanding of automated & manual Manufacturing & Purchasing systems. With this knowledge, there will be an expectation to schedule requirements using MRP for repeat requirements and manually (outside of automation), when needed. The long-term requirement however will be to reduce the need to manual intervention and planning where possible.
There will be an expectation to lead the Supply Chain Team and share experiences and know how, in the principles and know-how of an MRP system. Training will be provided to upskill in the Bond Group manufacturing system (if required), to ensure that the system is fully utilised, and benefits enjoyed by the company wherever and whenever possible.
