**SEN Assistant - Mainstream Secondary School (HARLOW)**

Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of students with special educational needs (SEN)? Do you thrive in a dynamic and inclusive educational environment? We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Assistant.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide one-on-one support to students with SEN, helping them access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and SEN coordinators to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and support strategies for students.
- Adapt and modify teaching materials and resources to meet the unique needs of students with SEN.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes the social, emotional, and academic development of students.
- Assist students with personal care tasks, as needed, while respecting their dignity and independence.
- Support students during transitions between classes and provide guidance in managing their behavior and emotions.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback and reporting to relevant stakeholders.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians, keeping them informed about their child's progress and collaborating on strategies for their success.
- Collaborate with external professionals and agencies involved in supporting students with SEN.

**Requirements**:

- Knowledge and understanding of different SEN conditions and strategies to support students' needs.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
- A proactive and flexible approach to adapting to the diverse needs of students.
