**Job Introduction**

Based in Euston as part of the SCS Area East NI/AP team.

Works Supervisor required for the program and delivery of the Noise Insulation works across SCS Project ( Area East/West & Central)

Prepare LEAD and DRIVE as the RESPONSIBLE Engineer all Engineering aspects of a small project or section of a large project, developing and reporting of section programmes and budgets and ensuring that the works are conducted safely.

Liaise between different site disciplines to ensure effective planning and use of project resources for the delivery of these works, manage resources and providing supervision, advice and guidance to the Sub-Contractors.

Ensure the progress of the works are in accordance with the contract, program, budget and design requirements.

Implement and assure compliance with all relevant HS2 and or statutory requirements with regards to Health, Safety, Environment and Public relations within their scope of work.

Working closely with the NI Operations Manager to ensure all works are scheduled and agreed with the residents prior to works commencing.

**Role Responsibility**
- Complete inspection and test plans, risk assessments and method statements for the control of the works ensuring that all necessary documentation, as required by these statements and plans, is produced in a timely manner.
- Communicate with works managers, foremen, gangers, workforce and sub-contractors to ensure full understanding of information provided.
- Communicate to the QA and QS teams non-conformances, and any instructions received from the client / designer / RE’s staff. Ensure that comprehensive records of resources employed on additional works are maintained.
- Taking off and site measures of materials to allow them to be controlled ordered efficiently and accurate reconciliations to be developed for the weekly review.
- Keep a full and accurate daily site diary, including any changes / variations, subcontractors’ attendance, and records of work related discussions with client / designer / RE / project team.

- Be fully conversant with, and demonstrate commitment to the requirements of the Health & Safety and Environmental Policies.
- Implement the relevant requirements of the SIMS and EMS within their area of responsibility.
- Ensure that their staff receive or have access to safety and environmental management systems and polices and are kept informed of all developments and issues
- Ensure that the staff receive suitable training appropriate to their roles and requirements of the safety and environmental Procedures and management systems.

- Understanding of Engineering Principles
- Technical knowledge of construction techniques and best practices.
- Computer competence (MS Word, Excel, Document control system).
- Relevant CSCS Card
- Training in Health & Safety and Environmental management
- Presentation Skills Training (as they deliver inductions / briefings etc).
- **Desirable**:_
- Degree in Civil Engineering
- ICE Training agreement
- Computer competence (Sypol COSHH database, SSPS Intranet database)
- Vocational Training (successful experience at engineer level)

The Skanska | Costain | STRABAG (SCS JV) is delivering the HS2 Main Civils Contracts which include both Lots S1 (Euston Tunnels & Approaches) and S2 (Northolt Tunnels). The combined value of the contracts is around £1.8billion with the works due for completionin 2025.Scope of works includes twin-bored tunnels (TBM), SCL tunnels, shaft sinking, bridge demolition and reconstruction, services diversions, earthworks and the construction of site compounds.
