Ellab UK is part of the Ellab AS company based in Denmark which has 25 offices over thirteen different countries employing over 700 staff. We provide world-leading validation, monitoring and calibration solutions and services, as well as GMP consulting, to life science and food manufacturing companies across the UK.
We are looking for an experienced credit controller to manage the Sales Ledger function for our company. As a credit controller, you will be responsible for all areas of the Sales ledger including collecting debts, evaluating new credit requests, ensuring timely payments of debtors, processing invoices, maintaining the sales ledger, set credit control approvals on taking on customers and providing administrative support.
**You will be required to**:
- Timely collection of accounts receivable to deliver monthly cash target.
- Timely resolution of client disputes to minimise aged debt and bad debt risk.
- Create and maintain customer master data in ERP system including terms of credit for new clients.
- Develop and maintain excellent relationships with key clients.
- Responding to client inquiries.
- Processing Sales invoices.
- Processing Statements to customers on monthly basis.
- Preparing reports for the company Financial Controller.
- Liaising with customers and the sales team.
- Action queried debt, investigate, and resolve within agreed SLAs.
- Carry out billing, collection, and reporting activities according to specific deadlines, and posting to customer portals as required.
- Daily cash recording, posting and allocation of client accounts.
- Resolving any invoice rejections from customer portals.
- Raise credits notes as required and within agreed SLA’s.
- Track and log credit activity on a weekly basis, including details of credit notes raised with reasons behind credit notes being raised.
- Carry out ad-hoc duties applicable to your role and within the finance department as and when required.
- Contribute to credit control projects and system development.
- Identify and implement process improvements within the department.
- Liaise with external auditors to deliver annual audits requirements ensuring time scales are met.
**Skills required**:
To ensure success as a credit controller, you should have a good eye for detail and the ability to reconcile complex company accounts. Ultimately, a top-class credit controller will help to maximize company profits by efficiently managing its debts.
- Previous work experience as a credit controller.
- Proficient in Accounting and Office software, ideally intermediate-level Excel skills, with experience in Pivots & Lookups.
- Ability to reconcile complex debtors’ accounts.
- Strong communication skills.
- Persuasive and good commercial skills and contract knowledge.
- Ability to deal with problematic clients.
- Experience working in a fast-paced office environment.
Managing a busy workload to meet necessary deadlines.
**Qualifications**:
- Experience in Credit Control and order to cash specialty essential.
- Degree and/or accounting qualification desirable but not essential
**Success Criteria**:
- Reduction in the size of current Debtors book, bringing Debtor days down to below 60days.
- Achieving daily invoicing to customers and ensuring all Sales invoices are processed in our systems and customers’ systems, as appropriate, on a timely basis for month end.
- Minimize credit notes, especially in relation to Invoicing errors.
**Salary**: £36,000.00 per year
