Cathedral Constables have maintained Good Order within Canterbury Cathedral and its walls since the 12th Century and have worked from the Constables Lodge for over three hundred years.

Todays' Cathedral Constables work in small teams providing both policing and security for the Cathedral, its staff and visitors 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The Constabulary currently has a number of vacancies for constables to join the teams. Hours are worked on a 4 on / 4 off, 12-hour shift rota system that includes day and night shifts, weekends and public holidays.
