**Job title**:Hospitality Assistant
**Hours**: Variable Shifts, Open 7 days a week
**Pay**: National Minimum Wage

**Responsible for**

As a Hospitality Assistant you will support all hospitality functions within the castle. You will be a key part of the Courtyard Café and outlets, bars at events and weddings, and private lunches and dinners at the castle.

**Roles will include**:

- Café service including preparing and serving hot and cold drinks
- Bar work at weddings and events
- Waitering/ dinner service at private functions
- Supporting your team with daily tasks and checklists
- Maintaining a clean, positive and welcoming environment for all visitors/ guests

Your responsibilities will vary dependent on the role you are carrying out. Therefore, we are looking for hardworking people who can be diverse, work with initiative and be willing to get involved. You should be able to work evenings and weekends, but many daytime shifts will be available too.

**Security, Health and Safety**:

- Act responsibly and adhere to health and safety requirements at all times
- Follow cleaning protocol and protective measures to comply with COVID-19 guidelines
- Respond, report and record any accidents that you are made aware of during events
- Be aware of and adhere to legal requirements when serving alcohol
- Be aware of and manage risks when cash handling

**Essential Attributes/ Experience**:

- Must be willing to work late evenings and weekends
- Must be aged 18 or over due to the handling of alcohol
- Well-motivated, with the ability to multi-task and work efficiently at peak times
- Proactive, with the ability to take initiative
- Excellent communication skills
- Team player but also comfortable to lone work

**Desirable Attributes/ Experience**:

- Previous experience working in hospitality
- Experience in bar work
- Barista trained

Powderham is a busy place to work with a variety of events happening throughout the season. There may be times you will be called upon to assist another department; therefore, co-operation and commitment to the wider business is key.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Zero hours contract

**Salary**: Up to £11.44 per hour

Expected hours: 6 - 30 per week
