**Job Title**: Trauma Peer Support Trainer

**Salary**: The starting salary is £37,289, which includes allowances totalling £2,841.

The salary is broken down as £34,448 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £36,864 Plus, a location allowance of £1,841 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.

**Location**:Southwark

**Contract**: Fixed term 24 months.

The role will play an integral role supporting the Band C Trauma Peer Support Programme Manager in the delivery of trauma peer support training courses. In addition, this role will also support evaluate training and where required support the live programme delivery as a programme SME.

This role will report to the Trauma Peer Support Programme Manager.

The post holder will be responsible for:

- Delivery of all aspects of specialist trauma peer support training - delivering from an agreed training package for demobilisation and defusing across all BCUs/OCUs in the MPS.
- Support the programme Clinical Lead to deliver Trauma Peer Support Meeting Training across all BCUs/OCUs in the MPS.
- Evaluate training delivery and develop improvements, to the delivery of trauma peer support training.
- Maintain feedback and evaluation following every course and make adjustments/recommendations as required, ensuring consistent training delivery and update to reflect agreed emerging issues and changes in national/MPS trauma peer support standards.
- Evaluate all training and provide analysis and information to the Trauma Peer Support Programme Manager and to inform the cyclical programme of training activity.
- Provide refresher and CPD related training to Trauma Peer Support Facilitators and Coordinators.
- Validate training and integration with clinical occupational health services via the OH Clinical Lead.
- Support the Trauma Peer Support Lead in the MPS wide promotion of the programme.
- As a Trauma Peer Support SME support provide advice/support to BCU/OCUs.
- Support major incidents/operations.
- Act as the training POC with BCU/OCU Trauma Peer Support Coordinators.

**Knowledge**:
The D&D trainers will require the following profile:

- A nationally recognised training qualification (mandatory)
- Trauma support knowledge and experience (desirable).

**Skills**:the role holder will have:

- Excellent training delivery, course development and evaluation skills
- Good organisational, negotiation and persuasion skills
- Excellent Box and excel spread sheet capabilities.
- Self-motivated and good team-worker
- Ability to manage work activities upwards and escalate issues assertively.
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities.
