**The Post**
This role will be based in the Faculty of Natural Sciences and provide efficient and effective administration support for the Faculty’s Postgraduate degree programmes with a specific focus initially on the PGT programmes in the division of Computing Science and Mathematics. These programmes have a high proportion of international students and as a result, the post holder will play a key role in the monitoring of attendance and engagement of postgraduate international student visa holders. This will include building and maintain productive relationships with academics to support any overseas students who fall below the required level of engagement and escalate any concerns to the University’s Student Immigration Team.

The role will be responsible for delivering a range of activities relating to the administration of academic programmes, supporting the student experience (from initial enquiry through to graduation), development and administration of student placement opportunities, administration of professional accreditation of programmes, and providing assistance to academic staff and professional services colleagues across the Faculty. With mínimal supervision, the role will also be expected to work flexibly as part of the wider faculty team ensuring that a high-quality service is provided to all students at all times.

**Description of Duties**
With a willingness to adapt, be solutions focused and work collaboratively this role will:

- Provide administrative support in relation to the effective operational delivery of taught programmes in the Faculty and liaise with colleagues across the Faculty and University to support the delivery of an excellent student experience.
- Respond in a timely manner to requests for information from students, academics and other stakeholders.
- Undertake a range of programme and module administrative duties, liaising with Module Co-ordinators and Programme Directors as necessary,
- Supporting the appointment of external examiners and arrangements associated with examination papers and examination boards.
- In conjunction with colleagues, support the Faculty’s goal of ensuring high standards of quality assurance and student experience. Specifically, support student feedback processes (student staff consultative committees, module evaluation, PTES) and prepare reports that include recommendations to improve administrative and student experience aspects of the programme.
- Supporting programme directors with the collation of annual programme monitoring reviews and module coordinators with module review monitoring;
- Supporting internal and external quality assurance reviews, including those relating to accreditation bodies and other quality assurance processes and procedures.
- Provide financial administration support to the Senior Administrator in connection with Learning and Teaching operations as required.
- Contribute to the development of revised processes and policies which will enhance the student experience (through, for example, improved retention, attainment and employability outcomes) and ensure such processes and policies are effectively implemented.
- Co-ordinate and support recruitment, conversion and admission activity, administration of scholarships, student induction and enrolment arrangements as required.
- Work collaboratively with professional services colleagues in the Faculty and the wider University to share information and best practice in order to enhance services provided, taking a continuous improvement approach to process review.
- Ensure that Marketing and Recruitment colleagues are provided with the information they require to actively support recruitment events and programme activities;
- Engage in training and development opportunities to support the work of the team and Faculty.
- Contribute to the wider life of the Faculty and University through involvement with major University and/or Faculty events, such as open days, graduation, conferences, research week, etc.
- Undertake other duties commensurate with the grade as required.

**Essential Criteria** Qualifications and experience**:

- Good educational background (to at least HND level) or equivalent experience
- Experience of working in a busy, customer-focused administrative environment
- Experience of, and ability to, communicate effectively with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures
- Knowledge of data protection and equality legislation and an appreciation of the potential impact of this legislation on the duties of the role
