**Senior Faculty Assistant (Events and Research Support)**

**Grade 5: £27,131- £32,348 per annum**

**Permanent**

Saïd Business School is recruiting for a Senior Faculty Assistant reporting to the Head of Faculty.

The post will sit in Faculty Services, where the Director of Faculty Services leads a team of c20 staff, providing a broad portfolio of high quality, responsive support for faculty members across the breadth of the academic disciplines.

This post will provide administrative support and coordination for events management and research activity. The postholder will provide first-line support, mentoring and guidance to two other Faculty Assistants, escalating issues where necessary. The Senior Faculty Assistant will therefore work closely with the other Faculty Assistants and the Faculty Administration Managers. They will provide a range of administrative support for the School’s academic staff, and will take the lead on the organisation of a variety of activities and events, in particular seminars and conferences, travel and publications. This role will suit an individual who enjoys being part of a busy collaborative office and working in an environment of changing priorities. The post-holder will be required to be both proactive and reactive, and to be able to work effectively as a team member as well as independently with minimum supervision as required.

A few of the responsibilities:

- Acting as first point of call for queries from the members of the Faculty Assistant team, triaging urgent and complex questions to the relevant Faculty Administration Manager.
- Allocate _ad hoc_ tasks to administrative staff, being proactive in identifying the support required to fulfil a given academic need and putting in place the resource and/or framework to respond appropriately, feeding back to faculty managers where needed.
- Taking responsibility for the organisation and coordination of a variety of activities and events, in particular seminars and conferences. This will involve liaising with keynote speakers or staff, collating research papers, creating event website pages, producing conference materials, and organising general logistics such as catering and travel arrangements.
