**Job Summary**: In conjunction with the Facilities Site Manager to be responsible for both routine exterior and interior maintenance of the Hospice (and any other buildings owned or leased by the Hospice) and to carry out cleaning duties. Although based in one locality, post holders will be required to work in other EACH localities in order to ensure adequate staffing levels. Responsibilities 1. To be responsible for the maintenance of all buildings, vehicles and equipment owned or leased by the Charity, located/based at Milton.

To advise on the necessity of bringing in outside contractors and to supervise their work as far as appropriate, completing all necessary paperwork/checks on arrival on site prior to the commencement of their work. 5. To ensure the upkeep of the grounds pertaining to Charity property, including maintenance of drains, courtyard and paths, ensuring safe access and exit. 6.

Undertake minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry and general building work. 7. To complete all decorative and painting works as required to ensure all building areas maintain a fresh, clean, modern look. 8.

To research replacement parts required to resolve plant/equipment faults, place order for parts with Facilities Site Manager, travel to supplier stores to collect items as necessary/ requested 9. To regularly check Generator fuel levels and purchase top up fuel in good time. 10. To plan the use of volunteers to assist in the maintenance of buildings, gardens and vehicles.

11. To ensure Hospice vehicles are checked and serviced at the prescribed periods, and cleaned on a regular basis. 12. To act as nominated Fire Officer and undertake fire safety responsibilities as detailed in the operational policies and procedures manuals.

This will include carrying out statutory checks, tests and maintenance of records. 13. To undertake site specific fire safety training for new staff including bank staff and volunteers as part of their orientation programme. 14.

To undertake necessary training and be responsible for the ongoing management of the Hydrotherapy Pool, including Plantroom maintenance and operation, pool and plantroom cleaning and regular water testing. 15. To be prepared to travel to undertake training or assist other EACH sites with role specific duties. 16.

To be responsible for the security of the buildings, vehicles and site. Ensure that all plantrooms and buildings are locked and secure at the end of shifts. 17. To be familiar with legislation that applies to the Charity, such as the Health and Safety at Work Act, COSHH and ensure that practices and procedures comply with this legislation.

18. To be available out of hours (where possible) for any emergencies relating to safety, security or operation of plant and equipment that may arise. 19. To assist the wider facilities team fulfil their duties when required.

20. To liaise with the Facilities Site Manager and Infection Control Co-ordinator to ensure that Department of Health guidelines are adhered to. To undertake any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, the title of the post and its grading, as requested by your line manager or their higher level of authority.
