**About the Role**:
Harlow South Primary Care Network has a fantastic opportunity for a GP assistant (GPA) to join our team, on a full time basis for 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

The GPA position is a support role, covering administrative tasks and, if appropriate, some basic clinical duties, to assist the GPs, enabling them to make the best use of consultation time. The post-holder will form part of our multi-disciplinary, primary-care team and contribute to the smooth running of the practice.

**The main duties of this role will include**:

- Managing incoming and outgoing clinical correspondence;
- Extracting information from clinical documents that require coding;
- Arranging appointments, referrals, tests and follow-up appointments;
- Completing basic (non-opinion) forms, and core elements of some forms, for the GP to approve and sign. These might include insurance, mortgage and benefits agency forms, for example;
- Improving patient flow;
- Supporting patient experience by reiterating information from the GP;
- Assisting with practice tasks;
- Helping the GP liaise with outside agencies e.g. arranging admission;
- Supporting the prescription clerk team.

- Ability to multi-task and to work accurately under pressure;
- Ability to work in a team as well as being comfortable working independently.

**About Us**:
Harlow South Primary Care Network is a group of three practices within Harlow. We jointly deliver services that improve outcomes and provide a positive patient experience for our population of 40,000+.

As a primary care network (PCN), our aim is to work collaboratively, enabling our team of social prescribers, care coordinators, clinical pharmacists, nursing associates and a health & wellbeing coach to work together with the practices. We seek continuous improvement by strengthening our relationship with other key, health and wellbeing providers to maximize the impact of our services on quality and outcomes of patient care.

The practices within the PCN are Lister Medical Centre, based at Lister House, Staple Tye, The Ross Practice and The Hamilton Practice based at Keats House, Bush Fair. All practices use Systmone clinical system.

We are a friendly, supportive, democratic, well organised and enthusiastic primary care network, based in a new, purpose-built, single-site health centre in Harlow. We are a training hub and actively encourage learning and development for all staff.
