Dietetic Assistant

An exciting opportunity for a Dietetic Assistant has arisen within the Diabetes Dietitians and Adult Weight Management Teams at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.

You will work independently as part of the Nutrition and Dietetic team under the guidance of registered dietitians and after a period of competency-based training; assisting qualified staff clinically and administratively to ensure a quality service.

The post holder will be responsible for delivering structured, basic nutritional and lifestyle advice to groups of patients eg newly diagnosed at risk of diabetes, gestational diabetes and Adult Weight Management. These groups will be delivered in hospital sites, GP practices and venues across the Northumberland area, working virtually and face to face. The post holder will demonstrate a non judgemental manner and an understanding of local issues affecting food choices.

This post will also require you to review and follow up patients with established nutritional care plans in a clinical setting, supported by supervising dietitians.

This role involves travelling between sites in Northumberland so it is essential that the post holder has a valid driving licence and access to a car for work purposes.
