**Your new company**
Hays are working with the Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMO) Unit at a large public sector organisation based in central Belfast to source an Assistant Manager.
**Your new role**
This is a temporary contract for an initial 9-12 month period. This post is currently vacant therefore presents the opportunity for a permanent position.
Responsible to the HMO Manager for the management, development and supervision of staff in accordance with the principles of performance management ensuring service delivery is undertaken within the agreed quality, time and legal targets.
Ensure accurate and timely management of administration of all documentation necessary for delivering the HMO licensing function including the preparation of reports, statutory notices, licenses, fixed penalty notices, summons including attendance at Committeeand Court.
Assist with the monitoring of budgets as are allocated for the discharge of the relevant functions of the HMO section in accordance with the organisation's stated policies so as to ensure that the relevant objectives are met within budget and provide valuefor money.
**What you'll need to succeed**
To be suitable for this post you must meet the following qualifications and experience:

- Either, have a third level qualification in a relevant discipline such as Building Surveying, Environmental Health, Business Studies, Management, Law or equivalent and be able to demonstrate at least one year's relevant experience in each of the followingthree areas;
OR
- Be able to demonstrate at least two years' relevant experience in each of the following three areas:
b) managing resources in accordance with the principles of performance management; including direct management and motivation of staff, developing and monitoring work programmes and managing budgets; and c) providing advice and guidance to a range of internaland external stakeholders in accordance with customer service principles.
Technical knowledge: An understanding of enforcement processes, applicable legislation and best practice involving criminal investigation. Interpreting legislation/guidelines demonstrating an in-depth understanding of investigative and statutory processes andtheir relationship to codes of practice/guidance notes.

The salary will be in the range of £38,296 - £41,496 pro rata
37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
35 day paid annual leave including public holidays.
All business mileage will be reimbursed.
You will be paid weekly via BACS transfer every Friday morning.
