Senior Buyer

Reed Finance are working with a market leading manufacturing business, based in Yatton, recruiting for a Senior Buyer.

**Responsibilities**:

- Lead and develop a structured, creative and innovative procurement processes.
- Ensure continuous supply of required goods and materials and manage and communicate any supply problems.
- Purchase of goods, materials, components or services in line with specification, including cost, quality and delivery targets.
- Monitor market trends, competitor strategies, suppliers and alternative solutions.
- Identify, research, evaluate and deliver areas of opportunity to improve cost, quality & delivery.
- Ensure that collaboration with the Design Team is ingrained in the structure to research and evaluate new products.
- Develop ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency, add value, aid business performance and contribute to the strategy of continuous improvement.
- Negotiate contracts, improve value including cost and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities.
- Assess and evaluate supplier standing and undertake performance reviews.
- Explore alternate sources for goods and materials contributing to effective ‘make or buy’ decisions.
- Manage the procurement process including assessing tenders and quotations from potential suppliers.
- Work with the external sales team to provide sales opportunities through new procurement opportunities.
- Prepare purchase orders.

- Manage, mentor and coach your direct report (Buyer).
- Work collaboratively and negotiate and engage with stakeholders and suppliers regarding new projects, supplies and initiatives.
- Maintain appropriate supplier and stakeholder communication including performance reviews.
