You’ll be an ambitious, accomplished Finance Assistant with at least one years’ experience, who dreams of taking their Finance Management skills to the next level. Professional and proficient in your approach, you’ll work as part of our Operations and Finance teams, bringing Coda and our clients a can-do attitude that’s based in best-practice methodologies.

Personable and proactive, you’ll provide administrative and organisational support; you’ll also be expected to work using your own initiative, as well as integrating yourself into our close-knit team, based in Poole, Dorset.

**The role**:

- Processing of sales invoices.
- Credit control, debtor payment chasing and remittance advice reconciliation.
- Purchase ledger data entry.
- Timely purchase ledger payment scheduling.
- Credit card and Petty Cash reconciliation and transaction processing.
- Administration of all other day to day bookkeeping tasks, using Xero to complete bank reconciliations, and any other records necessary to ensure a full record of the company’s finances.
- Processing staff expenses.
- Providing information to our payroll bureau (for them to process payroll).
- Liaise with third parties and the bank on day to day issues and queries.
- Dealing with general enquiries and ad-hoc financial duties as required by management.

Working with support from management and an outsourced FD where needed, you will also be required to help:

- Ensure all HMRC statutory filings and payment deadlines are met, including VAT.
- Preparation and completion of simple monthly accounting journals.
- Production of monthly management reports, including Profit and Loss Account (or Income Statement) and Balance Sheet.
- Creation and maintenance of a fixed asset ledger

**Essential skills**:

- Comfortable in having a professional approach to client liaison and relationship building
- Managing multiple tasks, with good stakeholder management and time management.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent numeracy skills.
- Proficient working knowledge of VAT rules for transaction posting
- Good communication skills (written and verbal)
- Highly organised in finance management and time management
- Confident to make and own informed decisions in the best interests of client and agency

Essential requirements:

- Visa or right to work in the UK
- Previous experience in a similar Finance Assistant role
- Previous experience working with cloud based accounting software (i.e. Xero, Quickbooks, Sage, Freshbooks etc.)

**Other appealing (nice to have but not essential) experience and skills include**:

- Working experience with Xero
- AAT Level 3 or 4
- Experience posting month end accounting journals
- Experience preparing management accounts
- Previous experience working in a marketing agency
- A demonstrable track record working in Finance teams
